Osun-Osogbo Festival

Annually held in Osogbo, Nigeria, the Osun-Osgobo festival commemorates the fertility goddess, Osun. This vibrant event serves as a symbolic renewal of the covenant between humanity and the divine, as Osun bestows blessings upon the community, and in turn, the community pledges to uphold the sanctity of her Sacred Grove. Rooted in the indigenous Yoruba religious heritage originating from West Africa, this tradition has grown into one of the world's major religions, boasting a global following of over 100 million adherents.
